I just got back from the Concur Fusion Exchange event in New York, and wanted to share my thoughts on the event.
For those unfamiliar with the Concur Fusion Exchange, it is a smaller, traveling exhibition where those who are interested in the latest in T&E management and automation can come together and learn. This is not to be confused with the larger conference Concur does, which will be in New Orleans this year, May 6-9.
As some of you may know, we recently announced our partnership with Concur. The Oversight Connector for Concur enables Concur customers to automatically send expense report information seamlessly into the Oversight Insights On Demand™ application. Our cloud-based application monitors 100% of T&E transactions; the result of the joint partnership of our product is a more holistic view of a user’s behavior across time and across expense reports.
This Concur Fusion Exchange event was held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on March 19. With over 600 people in attendance, this was easily their biggest event, and the number of people created a very high energy event.
I have to mention here the fantastic job Concur does of keeping everything organized and fluid among attendees and sponsors. My favorite feature was the “Bingo” card, where each attendee had to get every sponsor to sign the card, and at the end the card became entered into a drawing for an iPad. This was one of the most innovative ways I have seen a company ensure conference attendees actually make it to the sponsor’s booths.
Overall there was a lot of interest in Oversight and the solutions we offer for Travel and Expense programs, how they differ from traditional BI, reporting, and auditing solutions, and how they enable customers to effectively target and improve unwanted behavior. This interest led to some fantastic conversations, including with representatives from industries we haven’t yet had the opportunity to work with, including the financial services and fashion industries. I also had the opportunity to talk with a few travel management companies about increasing customer value by leveraging travel data with expense data for more robust analytics.
The interest from Concur customers in the combined benefit of our two products is one of the reasons we’re very excited to be working together with Concur in 2014.
