Precise, Sophisticated Analytics that Find Real Issues

Collaborative Reasoning Engine™ (CoRE) offers precise, near-human reasoning capability to identify potential instances of fraud or misuse, offering your business a heightened level of protection. CoRE employs sophisticated statistical and probabilistic analysis, enabling the Oversight Knowledge Libraries to apply a wide range of integrity checks to your transactional data. And CoRE is specifically designed to incorporate a highly-leveraged collaboration of human reasoning and artificial intelligence capabilities to deliver maximum accuracy and efficiency.

Analytics

The distinctive reasoning technology – incorporating both temporal and state analyses – identifies sequences and concealment activities that other systems cannot. CoRE helps eliminate the potentially catastrophic effects of false negatives, while at the same time reducing the resource drain of false positives.

Similarity analysis is enabled through the correlation of exceptions across entities to highlight seemingly innocuous patterns. For example, two invoices exist for the same amount and item quantity, with the same ship dates, but different vendor ID numbers. CoRE compares other data for similarity, and determines that the vendor names and addresses, while not identical, are likely slightly different versions of the same data (taking into account use of abbreviations, variations in address conventions such as “Suite 350” versus “# 350”, etc.). Based on a combination of individual indicators such as these, CoRE is able to identify the likelihood that these are, in fact, duplicate invoices. If such exceptions are flagged and resolved early in the process, companies can avoid the greater expense of attempting to collect for a duplicate payment down the road.

Advanced Heuristics Technology

Oversight’s advanced level of logic identifies transactions and processes where fraud or misuse may be taking place. CoRE features:

  • Intelligent reasoning that replicates auditor’s tests and analyses
  • Efficient Incorporation of human reasoning and artificial intelligence in the analytic loop
  • Application of temporal, state and similarity analyses for highest-confidence conclusions
  • An exception database with a single permanent record of each issue identified
  • A Bayesian-based Scoring mechanism that helps prioritize issues for resolution
